TWO's Volunteer Convention 2012
6th annual volunteer convention of Taangh Wasaib Organization was held on Sargodha. State Minister Social Harmony Akram Gill was the guest of honor at the Annual Volunteers' Convention while Federal Minister for production Anwer Ali Cheema, State Minister for water and power Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Abdul Razaq Diloon, Film Director Shehzad Rafiq, renowned writer Parvez Kaleem, and District Officer Enterprises Mr. Kahisf Aqeel grace the Convention. The Convention was presided by Prof. Riaz Ahmed Shad- Chairman and founding member of TWO.
Rubina Feroze Bhatti-General Secretary Taangh Wasaib organization along with the representatives of volunteers greeted Mr. Gill and other distinguished guests on their arrival at the convention which was attended by more than 400 volunteers from district Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakar, Mandi Baha-ud-Din, Jhang, Jehlum, Sialkot, Chakwal Jhang, Lahore, Gujrat and Chiniot as well as political, social and government representatives. TWO's volunteers performed theatre, mimes and Sufi music to convey a message of peace, harmony and gender equality. The blend of the valuable information, artistic performances and networking opportunities created another powerful experience for TWO's volunteers.
Renowned Scholar and senior volunteer of TWO, Sahibzada Abdul Rasool, took an oath from the new representatives of TWO's volunteers' network. State Minister Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi gave the "Woman of Courage Award" to outstanding grass roots women leaders who demonstrate courage by taking a stand to further women rights and elimination of violence against women. Miss Toba Awal, Sabeha Khanum, Suneela Huma, Shabnam Kaleem, Munawar Sultana, Asima Hayat, NarjisAftab were the award winners of 2012.
Finally, at the Annual Convention, TWO recognized several outstanding volunteers of the Taangh Wasaib Organization. Mr. Gill awarded shields to Mr. Ilyas Shahi, Mr. Amjad Chohan, Mr. Safdar Niazi, Mr. Asim Shareef, Mr. Adil Khurashed, Mr. Sachal Jacob, Prof Abdur Rehman Qaiser, Amjad Hussain Chohan and Mrs. Rasheeda Aziz who contributed best voluntary services in various areas of work of Taangh Wasaib Organization. He also congratulated the volunteers w ho won awards for their services in different fields.
